These are pictures taken in various places around Connecticut in recent days, including the Regional Water Authority Recreational Area in New Haven, East Rock Park, Devil's Hopyard State Park, the Yale Marsh Botanical Garden, and Kettletown State Park (in no particular order).
Again, the focus is on wildlife, particularly birds, but also whatever critters I come across, and any especially striking plants (like the Lady Slipper here). Firstly, my editing here as you can see if different for each picture, and possibly different than other shots on this website. Lightroom is such a powerful tool, I feel that I am just beginning to understand it in order to enhance the photos I am able to capture.
Additionally, I am trying to be more ambitious in the shots I am getting, such as birds in flight, closer up images, moving animals, animals in variable lighting, etc. This has resulted in some hit or miss days, with outtings that include lots of walking and animal sightings, and yet maybe only one or two "quality" (in my mind) pictures to show for it. However, I find the learning process enjoyable, and it seems to be the best teacher really is experience, even if there are more failed shots than successful ones.
